You should understand the hiring process before you fill out the application. TSN gathers information about you so we can present you effectively to families. The first thing we send to families is your TSN application. We also send your letters of recommendation, notes from our interviews with your references, photos, and other information that we have available.

Tips to help you sell yourself on the Nanny Application Form

  • Use good English, and type carefully. Use a dictionary, if needed. All employers are impressed with someone who is careful and pays attention to details.

  • Be completely honest! We verify the information you give us. Do not mislead or give incomplete information.

  • TSN only represents non-smoking nannies. If you smoke -- even occasionally -- we can't help you.

  • Describe childcare experience in detail. Indicate babysitting and prior nanny experience. If some childcare experience has been with relatives, say so.

  • Ask your references if they can give you a positive recommendation. Don't use anyone as a reference who can not recommend you enthusiastically. However, never ask a reference to misrepresent your background or experience.

  • Be flexible in stating expectations. One job may pay more but doesn't have the extras that another job has. Most nannies say that the most important factor is finding the right chemistry with families. Being treated with respect can be even more important than salary, location, or the kind of car you drive.

  • Sell yourself. Be specific in talking about your achievements or qualifications. Always be positive. Let families know that you can provide the reliable and loving care they want for their children.
